Uses of Melamine
Main Application
It is primarily used as raw material to produce melamine‑formaldehyde resin (MF resin) for synthetic resins and plastics manufacturing.
Daily & Industrial Plastics
Used to make melamine tableware (imitation porcelain), electrical insulation parts and daily‑use plastic products, featuring heat resistance, impact resistance and good insulation.
Building & Wood Industry
Applied in wood adhesives, decorative laminates, impregnated paper and fire‑proof panels, improving water resistance, wear resistance and flame retardancy of boards.
Coatings & Paper Making
Serves as a key material for high‑grade coatings, paper strengthening and waterproof agents to enhance gloss, corrosion resistance and paper strength.
Textile & Leather
Used as anti‑crease & anti‑shrinking finishing agent for fabrics, and tanning/filling agent for leather.
Chemical Additives
Widely used as flame retardant, concrete water‑reducing agent and formaldehyde scavenger in construction and chemical industries.
Important Note: Melamine is strictly prohibited in food and feed due to toxicity to the urinary system.
